The Problem

With the rise of blogs and social media the media landscape is changing rapidly. The barrier of mass-communication is fading which means new forms of journalism emerge and information-overload becomes a big problem for curators like journalists. The need for condensed, easily accessible press information increases and the old press release format is now as dead as the paper it was once printed on.

But that's not the only thing that's changing. The new economy favors start-ups over big companies and so the number of start-ups is increasing now more than ever which means the need for a new kind of press release is two-folded. Journalists need a more flexible way to select the right content from a large amount of data and start-ups are looking for an affordable way to be stand out from the crowd.

Our Solution

PressDoc provides a new press release for a new era. By using the conventions of the web and offering content in a semantic structure it becomes both easier to write and digest a press release. Images and videos can be added to create a rich experience and cater to the often limited attention-span of online readers. Social media is key to good distribution so PressDoc provides tight integration with such media as well. Consumption of the press release is tracked and measured so detailed analytics can be provided to companies allowing them to optimize their future releases.

Journalists will enjoy the pull instead of push mentality. Instead of having information pushed towards them, they decide what's relevant and only receive what they are interested in. No more overloaded email inboxes, but one PR inbox with only relevant press releases. It's possible to subscribe to specific press releases from specific branches using either RSS, or in the future the specialized PR-inbox. The content of the press releases can easily be turned into an article by using either our click-to-copy functionality or the WordPress-widget for weblogs.

Our pitch:

PressDoc offers a new format for press releases which utilizes the power of social media for its distribution.
